The Hammer Series is delighted to announce the latest pro teams to sign up for the first event: Team Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij and Team Caja Rural-Seguros RGA.

The inaugural Hammer Series meeting takes place on Thursday 1st-Sunday 4th June at Sportzone Limburg in the Netherlands.

Team Roompot and Caja Rural join UCI WorldTour teams like Quick-Step Floors, Team Sky, BMC Racing Team and Trek-Segafredo in a world-class line-up.

Team Roompot manager Erik Breukink said: “The first event in the Hammer Series takes place in our home country, which will be an extra motivation for our 100% Dutch team. Our riders can compete with the world’s best riders for a home crowd. That's always a big challenge!”

Caja Rural sports director Eugenio Goikoetxea said: "The Hammer Series is a new race that we all want to see - a new experiment and spectacle for the fans, who will be able to watch top teams and riders on a closed circuit. It will be a great show."

Caja Rural’s Australian rider Nick Schultz added: "To race in the Netherlands, a country with so much cycling history, will be really special for us. The format gives every type of rider a chance - sprinters, climbers, time triallists - and it certainly will lend itself to really aggressive, fast, exciting racing."

Hammer Series is an innovative team vs. team racing format with no individual prizes. Teams taking part will battle in the Hammer Sprint, Hammer Climb and Hammer Chase to determine the world’s best cycling team.

Created by Infront Sports & Media and Velon, Hammer Series events will be held in selected cities around the world. Alongside the pro racing, events will feature a festival of cycling with family mass participation activities, men’s and women’s pro-am challenges, a fan village, cycling expo and entertainment.
