Tour de France 2020: Wout van Aert wins Stage 7

Wout van Aert won an action-packed Stage 7 of the Tour de France, as several general classification contenders were caught out by crosswinds.

Van Aert (Team Jumbo-Visma) sprinted to victory ahead of Edvald Boasson Hagen (NTT Pro Cycling) in second place and Bryan Coquard (B&B Hotels – Vital Concept p/b KTM) in third.

Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), Mikel Landa (Team Bahrain-McLaren), Esteban Chaves (Mitchelton-SCOTT) and Richie Porte (Trek-Segafredo) were all caught on the wrong side of splits caused by late crosswinds and lost 1min 22sec.

Adam Yates (Mitchelton-SCOTT) stayed on the right side of the splits to retain the overall lead.
