Giro d'Italia 2020: Ganna wins TT as Geoghegan Hart seals GC

Filippo Ganna made it a clean sweep of Time Trial wins at the 2020 Giro d’Italia, as he wrapped up the Stage 21 honours while his INEOS Grenadiers team-mate Tao Geoghegan Hart sealed the overall.

As he had been in the previous two TTs, Ganna was on top form and peerless as he won by 32 seconds ahead of Victor Campenaerts (NTT Pro Cycling), with Rohan Dennis (INEOS Grenadiers) third at further one second down.

The main event, which was the head-to-head between Geoghegan Hart and Jai Hindley (Team Sunweb) in the GC, saw the two young talents going into the TT equal on time after more than 85 hours of racing over the past three weeks.

A superb effort from both ended with Geoghegan Hart getting the better of Hindley by 39 seconds, as the British rider sealed the 2020 Giro. Hindley was confirmed as second overall, with Wilco Kelderman (Team Sunweb) completing the podium.
